American choreographer William Forsythe has lived in Germany for more than 30 years. For two decades he ran the Frankfurt Ballet, one of Europe's most adventurous companies. His groundbreaking dance-theater works for Frankfurt Ballet, at once cerebral, visceral and visual, both shocked and thrilled audiences around the world, and his neo-classical works can be found in the repertories of virtually every major ballet company. In 2004, he created The Forsythe Company, shifting his focus to making multimedia collages of movement, image, sound and spoken text.
